It has a thin & flexible tpu/plastic layer in the middle but strong enough to hold up to 2L liquid. Order came so quickly, 2 days from ordering. I poured a glass of water onto it, just to test it first. Nothing came through. I am using it for my couch for my cat as he has peed on couch before.
